- Multipurpose.
- Design it so it can be shown to your customers; web commercials, youtube and other social networking sites.
- Target audience. Think demographics: Race, Ethnicity, Gender, Age.
- Make sure you have an interesting concept.
- Research - Other corporate promo videos. Research should help develop ideas and provide inspiration.
- Be realistic. Especially when having a small budget; set targets.
- The length of your video is important. Make sure you get your point across. Most promos aren't longer than 10 minutes and usually last about 5 minutes or so. Keep it short and sweet.
- Well thought out script; serve it's purpose. Must be accurate and up to date information.
- Consider what questions you'll use when interviewing people.
- Casting the right company spoke person; practice screen tests. See how comfortable the subject is in front of the camera.
- Be responsive to requests: include logos, photos, products, broachers etc.
- If you're shooting in HD check that it's suitable for the piece your doing. May reveal what doesn't need seeing.
